Nigerian Pounded Yam Using A Hand Mixer

You need: A tuber yam
Avoid using the head of the yam to prevent lumps

Direction

1.    Slice, peel and cut the yam into cubes
2.    Rinse the yam and remove the water. Rinse a second

       time and remove the water
3.    Transfer into a pot of water
4.    Cover and allow to cook. Its cooked when the yam is soft

and you can easily pierce a fork through the yam
5.    Drain the water and keep the drained water
6.    Apply mixer on the cooked yam until it forms a dough-like
       consistency
Note: You may need to add a little of the drained water
to soften as you blend
7.    You can serve with any Nigerian soup of your choice
