NIGERIAN DOUGHNUT

 


INGREDIENTS

  1. All Purpose Flour 2 cups
  2. Margarine  about 5 teaspoon
  3. Dry Yeast  2 teaspoon
  4. Salt  half a teaspoon
  5. Granulated  Sugar, 4 teaspoon
  6. Egg  1 medium sized
  7. Vegetable oil for deep  frying
  8. Warm whole milk, one-third of a cup

DIRECTION

  1. Seive Flour, and add other dry ingredients
  2. Add the wet ingredients
  3.  Knead on a floured-sprinkled surface for about 10 minutes
  4.  Transfer to a Greased bowl, cover and let it rise till doubled or for about an hour in a warm place
  5.  After the first rising, transfer to a surface sprinkled with flour and knead a little
  6.  Spread to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into donut shapes
  7.  Cover and allow to rise in warm place for about 20 minutes
  8.  Deep fry about 2 Minutes on both sides
  9. You can coat with some granulated sugar, if desired
